Anna-Maria Renken Skipper

Will not race

Several years of windsurfing and swimming competition connected Anna-Maria to the water until one day she discovered that sailing might not only be a boring sport for old posh men but a true challenging adventure.  Having worked on Tall Ships, followed by some intense time of J80 racing in Spain and Germany, she focused on offshore racing around the Iberian peninsula, UK and Baltic until she got caught by the even bigger challenge of shorthanded racing, being the first and so far only German woman to compete in the fast growing Class40 circuit. Among others, Anna-Maria competed in the Transat Jacques Vabres, theTransat Solidaire du Chocolat, the Transat Quebec-St.Malo and qualified for the Global Ocean Race 2011-12. Sponsored by Nivea since 2013, she plans to compete in the Route du Rhum in 2018.
